Description: You have Weaving 1 – Table Loom (formerly Intro to Weaving Table Loom) and have woven several small projects but there is still so much to learn and you dont know where to start. This workshop introduces you to the magic that happens when you make twill lines larger, make them change direction or hop, skip and jump. You will also learn to warp the loom front to back. By the end of the workshop you should be able to read a draft, understand what happens and why within a given draft and ultimately design your own twill drafts. In addition, you will have an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of warping front to back vs back to front and be able to confidently choose the right method for each project.
Prerequisite: Weaving 1 and 2 or equivalent. Can warp and weave independently and have basic knowledge of drafting.
Students should bring: Pencils, graph paper, scissors, measuring tape, notebook, etc. Deposit cheque payable to OVWSG of $500 for loom loan (will not be cashed if loom returned on time in good order)
Materials fee: $25 for yarns and instructional materials required for this workshop
