Elizabeth teaching Introduction to Spindle Spinning

Description: Are you curious about spinning your own yarn but don’t know where to start? This beginner level workshop is designed to teach you how to spin and ply wool fibre on a drop (hand) spindle. The drop spindle is an excellent introduction to the process of creating yarn. It is more portable and less expensive than a spinning wheel. You will be provided a simple drop spindle, an instruction book to help remember everything you will learn, and plenty of fibre to practice with.

Prerequisite: None

Students should bring: A drop spindle if you have one, but one is supplied with the workshop.

Materials fee: $15 for wool fibre, spindle and instruction booklet
