Where do I start?
The suggested order for ease of learning is;
- Intro to Spinning 1 – on a spindle
- Intro to Spinning 2 – on a wheel
- Intro to Spinning 3 – Gaining Control
- Plying
Learning to Spin on a Spindle Wheel has no prerequisite and can be taken without other spinning courses.

For those who are now beyond a beginner and want courses to further your spinning knowledge we would suggest the following… (not available on the calendar every year but can be added if requested.)
- Intermediate spindle – if you don’t feel quite ready to try the
wheel or want to advance your spindle spinning - Fibre Preparation – useful whether you intend to work with raw fibre
or not. - Art Yarns – Prerequisite: must be able to spin fine yarns
- Big and Lofty Spinning Prerequisite: able to spin and ply a
balanced yarn on a spinning wheel
