Sorry, this workshop is full. Get on a waiting list.
NB: Registration for members opens Friday, Nov 3, for non-members Saturday Nov 4 at 12:00pm.
Description: Would you like to learn how to weave but beginning with 4 shafts seems a bit daunting? A Rigid Heddle loom is often a smaller, more portable and simpler way to try out weaving. Learn the basics of weaving on the Rigid Heddle loom while making a scarf in plain weave. This is a great introduction to a very portable loom. You will learn how to warp (set up the loom to weave), how to start and stop weaving, as well as focusing on the importance of even beat and making neat edges. How to wash and finish your scarf will also be discussed.
Prerequisite None
Students should bring: a lunch if possible as we take shorter breaks rather than one long lunch
Materials fee: $20 for hand painted yarn to make your project
NOTE: RESERVED Tickets are to be used by specific individuals such as those on a waiting list. Please do not register with this ticket unless you have been directed to do so by the Workshops Registrar. Unauthorized registrations will be cancelled and refunded less 5% to cover processing fees.
