Monthly Meeting

In person and on Zoom

Do you know the difference between a check pattern, a plaid and a tartan?  Ever wonder if you could design your own family tartan and have it registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans (formerly known as the Scottish Tartan Authority)?  We be talking all things tartan on March 3rd when we welcome master kilt-maker Shirley Stapley to our guild meeting. Last year, the oldest “true tartan” ever found, dating back to the 1500-1600s, which was incredibly well-preserved in a peat bog, was recreated by textile designers and tartan experts. Read more about this fascinating ancient fabric here and join us on March 3rd wearing your colours!
