I have been making baskets for some 30 years. Inspired by this ancient craft that has been practiced for thousands of years in every population worldwide, I am intrigued by the use of naturally available materials and the similarity of weave structures. My baskets are, for the most part, functional but they also can be displayed as art pieces. I prefer to work at Beaux Arbres, my pioneer farm in western Quebec where I find inspiration with the variety of materials, First Nations heritage influence, and the skills the Irish immigrants brought with them in the early 1800’s.
